Our Activists - A series of portraits. Each recognised for their commitment, tenacity and persistence to stand up in the face of adversity and continually strive and fight for change.
Our Veterans - The challenges faced by veterans of colour, did not only come about through their war efforts. It started at the point of signing up, many as volunteers, to support Britain in WW1 and WW2.Promotion to the rank of Officer was seldom offered to Black and Indigenous soldiers, and if it were, it would be as a result of having to deny they were of African descent. Being recognised for their sacrifice, skills and achievements following the ravages of war, proved to be thankless, unrewarding, and for many, unrecognised.
Plandemic - This theme, created during the global Covid 19 lockdown period, March 2020, led me to paint pieces reflecting what was happening globally and my feeling of being without control. It was a challenging period for myself along with many others.
RAW Perspective - This selection of artworks have been completed to express a different perspective.
Urban - This theme reflects the life experiences of some individuals of African descent – positive or negative, the narrative is ours.
